Self-portrait, 37 1/2 weeks
1.5 cm dilated, 50% effaced. 2 weeks to go?!
We shall see...
It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend. We are missing out on the annual Thanksgiving camping season finale at Saranac Lake.
We'll enjoy the holiday in the city instead!
A Happy Gobble Gobble weekend to everyone!

Anytime now, we're ready!
Last week I did some cooking to freeze for after baby's arrival. But there was only so much I could cook before both our fridges' freezers were full! We've bought a new freezer but it will only be in at the end of this week.
So we have lasagna, sheppard's pie, muffins, banana bread and a bit of chili. Not to mention the food people brought to my baby shower which is presently being stored at Cathy & Eric's.
Last Monday I took advantage of the gift certificate I received for my wedding shower and got a massage at the Westmount Spa. Wonderful! Unfortunately at this stage, the benefits of a massage don't last for very long.
I am very much looking forward to being able to toss and turn in my sleep.
And to wearing any pair of shoes I want (I think I'm down to 2 pairs that fit at this point.)
And to standing up for more than a few minutes before running out of breath!
I'm at the point where I'm going to see the doctor every week now. I've been lucky so far and haven't had to wait too long for my appointments most of the time. But last week, the doctor was pretty late as she had been attending a delivery so my 10:15 turned into a 12:30. Luckily I had nowhere else to be and had reading material so it wasn't so bad. All that waiting for her to check the baby's heartbeat and my blood pressure. Which were both fine.
Friday was a big day! Tim took the bus to work and so I went and picked up Cathy and Vanessa and we went for a walk on Mount St-Bruno. Surprisingly, most of the leaves have yet to change colour. It was a very pleasant day for a walk in the woods. Then we stopped for lunch. A very quick lunch. It was rather windy and quite cold in the clearing by the lake where we stopped. So we then went and warmed up at Cathy's parents' house before heading to the mall to look for a dress for Vanessa.
I then dropped the girls off at home and went to pick up Tim at work.
We had a made a date for dinner and a movie. After such an eventful day I was sure I would fall asleep at the movies but I didn't even come close to nodding off! I don't think that has ever happened even pre-pregnancy! We went to see "Burn Before Reading" and we both enjoyed it very much. Very true to the Coen brothers usual style of humour.
Saturday morning we purposefully got up at 5:30 (!) to go to a baby article sale in St-Bruno. We scored quite a few good buys by getting there at 7, one hour before the doors opened.
And that evening we had David, Julie & Arianne over for supper and they brought us more baby stuff. And on Sunday, Katja dropped some more clothes off so we are definitely set for a few months.
I think all I'm missing now is a baby album!
